1 Step Correction
A 1-step correction is a streamlined process designed to enhance the appearance of your vehicle's paintwork by removing minor imperfections. This involves a single stage of machine polishing, using a medium-cut polish and pad combination. The goal is to achieve a noticeable improvement in gloss and clarity while eliminating light swirl marks and minor scratches. It's a cost-effective solution for those looking to significantly improve their car's appearance without the time and expense of a multi-step correction.
2 Step Correction
A 2-step correction is a more comprehensive process aimed at removing deeper imperfections from your vehicle's paintwork. It involves two stages of machine polishing. The first step uses a more aggressive compound and pad to eliminate significant defects like deeper swirl marks, scratches, and oxidation. The second step uses a finer polish and pad to refine the finish, enhancing gloss and clarity. This method provides a more thorough restoration of your vehicle's paint, resulting in a smoother, more reflective surface.
3 Step Correction
A 3-step paint correction is the most comprehensive and meticulous method to restore your vehicle's paintwork to its best possible condition. It begins with a cutting stage, where a heavy-cut compound and coarse pad are used to remove significant defects like deep scratches, heavy swirl marks, and severe oxidation. The second stage is the polishing stage, which employs a medium-cut polish and pad to further refine the paint, eliminating any remaining imperfections from the cutting stage and enhancing clarity. Finally, the finishing stage uses a fine finishing polish and a soft pad to achieve a mirror-like finish, maximizing gloss and depth of color. This process ensures a showroom-quality shine, bringing your vehicle's paint back to life with unparalleled clarity and brilliance.
How do we know what step is appropriate?
To determine the best paint correction step for your vehicle, we use a method called the test spot approach. We begin by selecting a small, inconspicuous area of your vehicle's paint and start with the least aggressive method, typically a 1-step correction. We then inspect the results. If the paint still shows noticeable imperfections, we move to a more aggressive 2-step correction, which involves using a more aggressive compound followed by a refining polish. We assess the results again. If further correction is needed, we proceed to the final 3-step correction, starting with a heavy-cut compound, followed by a medium-cut polish, and finishing with a fine polish. This careful examination ensures we choose the most effective approach to restore your vehicle's finish to its best condition.
